Maggie Pang
Music Event Assistant (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)
Maggie holds extensive experience in arts education, performance, and management. She previously served as a tour and concerts manager for Musica Viva Australia and as a teacher and resident associate artist at the Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium. She holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in piano performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and was a musician at the Australian National Academy of Music.
In addition to participating in various festivals in Europe and the USA, Maggie has showcased her talents across Australia as a soloist, artist in residence, chamber, and orchestral musician, as well as a lecture recitalist. Her performances and recordings have been broadcasted on ABC Classic FM and 3MBS FM. She has played a pivotal role as a mentor and performer for the Australian Youth Orchestra, Four Winds Festival, and Australian Festival of Chamber Music.
A significant highlight in Maggie's career was her participation in the Momentum Ensemble with students from the Peninsula Specialist College. This transformative project involved workshopping and creating original compositions with students with special needs, culminating in a collaborative performance at the Melbourne Recital Centre. This experience underscored Maggie's belief in the empowering nature of music.
Recently, Maggie has overseen national tours for international artists such as Avi Avital, Garrick Ohlsson, and Jean-Guihen Queyras. She takes great pleasure in presenting musicians at their best and is passionate about mentoring the next generation in stagecraft and performance psychology.
When Maggie is not behind the piano or running around the backstage of concert venues, you may find her exploring obscure jazz records, conducting her next culinary experiment, or watching a sci-fi film of some sort.
Maggie works Wednesday - Friday and is responsible for coordinating the box office. She also provides support for our events and operations including looking after rehearsal and operational logistics of the Australia Ensemble UNSW.
